Join me as I transform everyday moments into vibrant, thought-provoking illustrations, crafted with meticulous detail —because even the mundane deserves a little pizzazz! Guided by curiosity and a passion for narrative, conceptual, and editorial art, I bring imagination to life, one brushstroke at a time (and possibly inspire a chuckle or two)!
In my series of conceptual editorial illustrations, titled "The Social Media Chronicles: Filtered Reality," I explore the multifaceted nature of social media culture, drawing inspiration from my personal experiences and the perspectives of my Gen Z peers. Each illustration delves into a different aspect of this pervasive phenomenon, addressing key themes such as...
Inspired by the book The Power of Our Subconscious Mind, this project represents my interpretation of the intricate universe within our minds. My illustration serves as a visual narrative that brings to life a poem I wrote, guiding the viewer on a journey into the depths of consciousness...
Inspired by Jhumpa Lahiri's book, ‘The Namesake’, this redesign echoes my own journey as an international student balancing Indian roots in a foreign land. Like Gogol, "forever hovering between the world of the parents and the world outside," my cover illustration reflects this identity struggle through the symbol of a suitcase—each side representing the "invisible" boundaries between two homes. Using key props from the novel, the design captures the internal conflict of living between cultures, inviting readers to experience Gogol’s search for belonging, "neither Indian nor American, but something in between."
Objectified Entree: A Feast of Despair” is a powerful editorial illustration inspired by the hidden realities of Mumbai’s infamous red-light district, Kamathipura. While working on this piece, I aimed to shed light on the heartbreaking lives of the women trapped in prostitution—a world largely unknown outside of India but one that is tragically real for those who live it.
Whack Your Insecurities” reimagines life’s ups and downs through the lens of a classic arcade game, “Whack-a-Mole.” In this illustration, quirky insecurities pop up unexpectedly from the empty holes—just like the doubts that randomly creep into our lives. The girl with the mallet symbolizes our ongoing fight to conquer these fears. Every time she “whacks” an insecurity, she earns a ticket, inching closer to her goals. The empty holes hint at the insecurities yet to come, reminding us that with each challenge overcome, we’re one step closer to victory.
